Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled fluorescent lamp that is made by coating the inner surface of a glass tube with a specific amount of a specifically composed fluorescent substance of a divalent metal borate activated with Ce and Tb, thus being a high power output type with reduced deterioration in luminescent flux and suitably used in electronic copying with green light emission.
CONSTITUTION: The reflection coating 2 with the opening 4 composed of a white substance such as titanium oxide is formed on the inner surface of a glass tube 1 containing a rare gas such as argon and a small amount of mercury inside. Separately, a boron compound readily convertible into oxide at elevated temperature, a magnesium compound, a cerium compound and a terbium compound are mixed, precalcined and calcined in a reductive atmosphere to prepare a divalent metal borate fluorescent substance activated with Ce and Tb with a composition of the formula (MIis Mg, Be, Zn, Cd; M II is Ca, Sr, Ba; 0<a≤2.0; 0≤x≤0.25; 0<y≤0.4; 0.0001≤z≤0.4). The resultant fluorescent substance is coated on the reflection layer by 0.4W2.2mg/cm2 to form the fluorescent layer 3.
