Abstract

PURPOSE: A fluorescent lamp emitting green light in which the fluorescent layer of a specifically composed fluoresent substance of a divalent metal borate activated with Ce and Tb with fine particle sizes is formed on the inner surface of a glass tube, thus causing no reduction in reflux even when the application of the fluorescent substance is reduced.
CONSTITUTION: A boron compound, which is readily convertible into its oxide at elevated temperature such as boric acid, a magnesium compound such as MgO, a cerium compound such as CeO2, and a terbium compound such as Tb4O7 are mixed and precalcined at 400W800°C, then calcined at 800W1,100°C in a reductive atmosphere.
