Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a grid by forming both main bones and fine bones through plastic work by use of lead of the same amount as only the said main bones, and making the corrosion resistance of the said grid larger than that of a casted grid by pressing. CONSTITUTION:After a grid, which has a lag 1 and main bones 2 comprising an upper bone, a lower bone and vertical bones, is casted, the above grid is placed between an under mold 6 and an over mold 5, which is provided with fine grooves 4, and is pressed and subjected to cold work so that fine bones 3 protruding laterally from the vertical bones are formed. The fine bones 3 are formed when part of lead contained in the main bones 2 placed between the molds 5 and 6 is extruded along the fine grooves 4 of the over mold 5. At this point, the thickness of the main bones is reduced, and the internal cast net is crushed.
