Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the green compact of a long length with dies of a short length by putting the second powder to the top of the first green compact and pressure molding this second powder and the first green compact.
CONSTITUTION: First powder 7 is put in the hole 4 of dies and is pressed by upper and lower punches 6 and 5 to obtain the first green compact 8. Thence, the second powder 10 is put on top 9 of the first green compact 8 and this second powder 10 and green compact 8 are pressed with the punches 6 and 5, whereby the green compact 13 is obtained. In this case, the first molding pressure is made 10kg/mm2 or less and the second molding pressure is made 30kg/mm2 or more, whereby the upper part 14 of the first green compact and the second powder 10 are compression- bonded and the green compact 13 is integrated. Also, by making the first molding pressure at 10W20kg/mm2 and the second at 30kg/mm2 or more, the density near the boundary of the green compacts may be made lowest and if desired the separated green compacts may be obtained. If necessary, it is possible to mold two kinds of green compacts of different shapes with the same die.
