Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric oscillator with low cost through decreased number of components and with high accuracy, by sealing a piezoelectric oscillator bonded with external lead wire through glass case to the lead wire. CONSTITUTION:A tuning fork type piezoelectric oscillator bar 14 is shaped with tuning fork by machining, metallic film is given on the surface and a part of it constitutes terminals 15, 16. A plated one end of a lead wire 17 is overlapped to the terminals 15, 16 and the bar 14 and the lead wire 15 are bonded by using laser. The bar 14 fixed with the lead wire is positioned at the center of a glass case where one end is opened and another end is closed and the chip is under a high vacuum. Power is applied to the sealed terminals to heat the case opening to be softened, and the terminals are gradually closed and sealing is made by incorporating the glass opening. The formed metallic film is evaporated by using laser to adjust the oscillating frequency. With this construction, the adjustment is made easier and the accuracy of adjustment can be increased.
