Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve accurate automatic tuning to an LW broadcast station at narrower frequency interval than the band width of an intermediate frequency amplifier, by stopping a sweep on the condition that the level of an intermediate frequency signal is a prescribed value or more and a phase shift between said level and the reference frequency is absent. CONSTITUTION:A reception signal received on an antenna 1 is applied to a mixing stage 3 and frequency-converted with a local oscillation signal issued from a local oscillator 4 frequency-controlled at a PLL circuit. The signal is amplified at an intermediate frequency amplifier 5, detected at a detection stage 6 and outputted from a terminal 7. On the other hand, a reception signal level obtained at the amplifier 5 is detected at a level detector 21, the frequency information after frequency conversion is detected at a frequency detector 19 and compared for the phase with a frequency from a reference oscillator 8 at a phase comparator 18. The output is applied to an AND circuit 20, and only when the reception level is a prescribed value or more and the intermediate frequency after frequency conversion is coincident with the reference frequency, a sweep stopping signal is sent to a search signal generator 13.
