Abstract

A SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVER RECEIVES SIGNALS FROM A SATELLITE RECEIVING FACILITY COMPRISING ONE OR MORE FREQUENCY CONVERTERS. THESE FREQUENCY DRIFT WHICH CAN NO LONGER BE COMPENSATED BY AN AFC CIRCUIT PRESENT IN THE SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVER, WHICH IS ADJUSTING A CARRIER OSCILLATOR FOR CARRIER REGENERATION IN A DEMODULATOR CIRCUIT. UNDER THE INVENTION A LOCAL OSCILLATOR PLANNED FOR A MIXER IS DESIGNED AS A PLL LOCAL OSCILLATOR (44) WHICH IS ADJUSTABLE BY A LARGE AND A SMALL STEP RANGE. THE AFC CIRCUIT (1) AND A SYNC SIGNAL EVALUATION CIRCUIT (40) ARE CONNECTED TO A CONTROL CIRCUIT (34) BY WHICHTHE PLL LOCAL OSCILLATOR (44) IS TUNED IN A LARGE STEP RANGE OUTSIDE THE LOCK-IN RANGE OF THE AFC CIRCUIT (1) WHEN SYNC SIGNALS ARE NOT RECOGNIZED AND, WHEN SYNC SIGNALS ARE RECOGNIZED, IN A SMALL STEP RANGE INTO THE LOCK-IN RANGE OF THE AFC CIRCUIT (1). THE DESCRIBED SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVER IS SUITABLE FOR BEING CONNECTED TO SATELLITE RECEIVING FACILITIES IN WHICH A SUMMED-UP DEVIATION OF THE NOMINAL RECEIVING FREQUENCY OCCURS DUE TO A MULTIPLICITY OF FREQUENCY CONVERTERS, OR TO PRIVATE SINGLE FACILITIES WHICH FOR REASONS OF COST REDUCTION MUST DO WITOUT A HIGH STABILITY OF FREQUENCY.@@(FIG. 1)
