Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the SN with a simple constitution, by forming a magnetooptic storage thin film on a reflector having a sufficient reflectivity to the light used for reproduction of information. CONSTITUTION:For instance, an Au vapor-deposited film 2 is formed on a substrate 1 of glass, synthetic resin and the like, and an amorphous ferrimagnetic substance thin film 3 of GdTbFe, GdDyFe, TbFe, DyTbFe and the like is formed on the film 2. Furthermore, an SiO2 protective film of about 1,000Angstrom is formed on the film 3. With formation of the vapor-deposited film 2, the Kerr rotational angle is increased to 0.5 deg. from 0.15 deg.. In such way, the SN can be increased with a simple constitution.
