Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve high-density recording and reproduction by magnetically recording a signal on a magnetic recording medium which varies in high-frequency magnetic conductivity mu or loss with a magnetic field, and performing reproduction by using a resonance curcuit while utilizing variation in mu or loss. CONSTITUTION:On a magnetic material which varies in high-frequency magnetic conductivity mu with a magnetic field, such as a magnetic recording medium 1 containing YIG (yttrium iron garnet), etc., a signal is recorded by a vertical magnetization type magnetic head consisting of a main magnetic pole 2 and an auxiliary magneic pole 3. A reproducing head 5 has a high-frequency resonance circuit 8 consisting of a coil 6 and a capacitor 7, and this resonance circuit 8 is supplied with a high-frequency signal from a high-frequency oscillation circuit 9. The signal recorded on the recording medium 1 in the form of variation in mu is detected by a detecting circuit 10 by variation in resonance frequency. Thus, high-density recording and reproduction are achieved.
