Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the record sensitivity by securing the fixed amount for the distance of shift between the recording main magnetic pole and the tip face of the high-magnetic permeability component. CONSTITUTION:High-magnetic permeabilit component 4 with coil 3 wound is provided inside main magnetic pole 2 formed by the high-magnetic permeability thin film and with the tip part opposing to magnetic tape 1. Then the D/T ratio is selected to 1/3-1 between shift amount D between pole 2 and the tip face of component 4 and total thickness T of pole 2 and component 4. Thus relative magnetic field H0 which is to be the recording magnetic field to tape 1 becomes maximum. As a result, the sensitivity can be increased for the vertical magnetic recording with a simple constitution using no exciting auxiliary magnetic pole or the like. If the tip part of component 4 is formed like the taper, the magnetic flux density can be increased to ensure the better recording.
