Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a vertical magnetic recording head which can generate the sharp writing magnetic field and also applied to the magnetic disk unit by providing the conventional coil to excite the magnetic pole plus another coil which encloses the conventional coils. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic disk unit is formed by providing slider 5 to the thin film head chip which is composed by winding thin film coil 3 round the tip of magnetic pole 2 made of, for example, the ferromagnetic substance thin film. Then multi-winding coil 6 is installed to the head of such magnetic disk unit by enclosing the entire disk unit. And the electric conduction is given simultaneously to both coils 3 and 6 for application. As for the magnetic field formed by coil 6, such scale that gives the uniform magnetic field to both the magnetic pole and the recording medium, i.e., about 700 Oe or less will suffice, and thus writing width X can be set nearly identical to the thickness of the magnetic pole.
