Abstract

PURPOSE: To form pattern-like plating films easily on metallic plates to be plated by bringing the metallic plate to be plated as cathode and the metallic plate to be plated as anode into contact with each other via a pattern-like insulator and conducting electricity in a plating bath.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic plate 3 to be plated as cathode and a plate electrode 4 provided with an insulator 4b having patterns of a prescribed shape on the surface of a plated metallic plate 4a as anode are superposed by way of the insulator 4b, and are adhered closely by a weight 6. In this state, electricity is conducted between the plate 3 of cathode and the plate 4a of anode to form plating films on the exposed parts 4x other than the parts covered by the insulator in the surface of the plate 3, whereby the plating films of the intended pattern shapes are formed easily.
