Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the multicolor thermal recording sheet wherein a picture on the upper layer thereof is not blurred at the time when the lower layer is developed in color, by inserting an intermediate layer containing heat-melted material into thermal color-developing layers. CONSTITUTION:The sheet is composed of three layers, i.e. a layer 1 having the highest color-developing temperature, a layer 1' having intermediate color- developing temperature and a layer 1'' having the lowest color-developing temperature, which contain color-developing agents developing colors differently from each other and are laminated on a supporting body 4. The layer of the lowest temperature is formed of a leuco-body base of triphenyl methane dye or fluoran dye, while the layer of the highest temperature is formed of a open- ring lactone compound whereto a color-development promoting agent is added. To the intermediate layer is added animal or vegetable wax or paraffin wax as the heat-melted material together with such a binder as employed for the thermal color-developing layer. The thickness of the intermediate layer is made to be about 1-5mu. By inserting the intermediate layer in this way, the sheet wherein the picture on the upper layer is not blurred when the color of the lower layer is developed can be obtained.
