Abstract

PURPOSE:To obviate the occurrence of fog phenomena during the storage period of the recording material and make images distinct by containing a discoloring agent which discolors low temperature heat-sensitive coloring components when colored at high temperature in the form of the specific microcapsules. CONSTITUTION:A high temperature heat-sensitive color forming layer 2 is formed on a substrate 1 such as paper by using a known heat-sensitive coloring system. On this is provided a low temperature heat-sensitive color forming layer 3 comprising dispersing a color former 5 composed of colorless or pale color leuco dyes coloring to the tone differing from that of the layer 2, a developer 6 composed of phenolic material or acidic material and microcapsules 7 comprising building a discoloring agent in the capsule walls composed of polyamide, polyester, polyurethane or polyvinyl base resins which melt at temperatures of 100 to 160 deg., in a binder. The specific alcohol, polyether, polyethylene glycol, guanidine derivative, etc. are used as the discoloring agent.
