Abstract

PURPOSE: To control stopping of charging precisely and to decrease the amt. of slag flowing into an intermediate vessel as far as possible by detecting the oscillations of a nozzle mounted to a nozzle thereby detecting the outflow of the slag.
CONSTITUTION: When pouring is started by opening a nozzle 2, the nozzle 2 is oscillated by the disturbance of molten steel flow, and the oscillations are detected with a pickup 4 and are amplified with an amplifier 7. The oscillations are inputted to an oscillation displacement output device 8, and the signal corresponding to the oscillations of the nozzle 2 are transmitted to a decision device 9. When the molten steel 5 in a ladle 1 is flowed out roughly fully and slag begins to flow out through the nozzle 2, the degree of the oscillation of the nozzle 2 decreases and in accordance with this, the output value from the device 8 in accordance with the detection signal of the pickup 4 dereases and as a result, the ratio of the output value and a reference value falls to ≤1. When the device 9 transmits a completion signal and this signal is inputted to a driving device 10, an opening-closing cylinder 3 is operated to close the nozzle 2, whereby the charging is stopped.
