Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate transfer paper securely by setting the charge density of charge applied to a transfer charger to <=0.69muc/cm<2> and the applied voltage of a conductor belt to >=1,000V. CONSTITUTION:Transfer to transfer paper 2 is performed by a transfer discharger 3 at the transfer position of a photoreceptor 1. An endless belt 4 is provided in contact with the transfer paper right after the transfer. Consequently, as the transfer current of the transfer discharger decreases, the force of pressing the transfer paper against the photoreceptor is reduced to prevent the photoreceptor from deteriorating, thereby evading the evil influence of sticking matter on an image. As a transfer current becomes lower and lower, the efficiency of the transfer becomes lower and lower, so that separation by suction is disabled. For this purpose, the charge density of transfer discharge is set to <=0.69muc/cm<2> and the voltage of the conductive belt 4 is set to >=1,000V, performing excellent transfer separation.
