Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely prevent the transfer drop-out of the toner at the time of separation by providing a conductive separating member which separates and conveys copying paper after transferring, and grounding said member by way of a resistor. CONSTITUTION:Electrostatic latent images 2 of negative (-) charge are formed on the surface of a photosensitive drum 1, and the toner 3 of positive (+) charge is stuck thereon. Copying paper 4 is applied with a transfer electric field to negative (-) pole by a transfer charger 5. When said application of the transfer electric field is performed, the toner position (+) polarity on the drum 1 is transferred to the copying paper 4, thence when the copying paper 4 approaches a conductive belt 6, the potential V(t) of the belt 6 is zero at the moment when the leading end of the copying paper 4 contacts the belt 6 and the negative (-) potential increases gradually as the copying paper 4 contacts the belt 6. In the image parts behind a certain width (7-8mm.) from the leading end of the copying paper 4, no transfer drop-out occurs.
