Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out transfer of a toner image and separation of a recording sheet simultaneously, by charging the toner image same in polarity as an electrostatic latent image, superposing a recording sheet charged same in polarity as the latent image in advance, and contacting a grounded conductive body to the reverse side of the sheet.
CONSTITUTION: When a toner image is formed on photoreceptor 1, the image is charged in polarity reverse to that of the electrostatic latent image, for example, negatively. This receptor 1 is subjected to positive corona discharge with corona charger 2 to charge receptor 1 and toner T both positively. Recording sheet S precharged positively is superposed on the toner image, or sheet S superposed on the toner image is then charged positively. In this state, grounded metal roller 4 is contacted to the reverse side of sheet S, thus permitting the toner image to be transferred to sheet S, and at the same time, sheet S to be separated from receptor 1 to the circumferential face of roller 4.
