Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily obtain filterable concentrated sludge at low cost by adding slaked lime to concentrated sludge, mixing for 15W30min, and after allowing to leave the same for 2W3hr as it is, neutralizing to pH7W8, adding 10W50% DS slaked lime and dehydrating.
CONSTITUTION: In a sludge conditioning tank 6, 10 DS slaked lime is added to concentrated sludge discharged from a pressure floating tank 5 and mixed up for about 30min. After allowing to stand for 2W3hr, it is neutralized with sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid etc. A part of supernatant liquid of the slime is returned to a conditioning tank 4 to use the liquid as an or-ganic flocculant. The neutralized sludge liquid is led to a slaked lime adding tank 7, and 10W50% DS slaked lime is added. The reconditioned sludge is filtered with a vacuum filter 8 of belt discharge system. By this way, the water content of cake is made to ≤50% and becomes dry.
