PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic head with the magnetic characteristics of high permeability and magnetic flux density excellent in wear resistance, by depositing the amorphous magnetic film of a specific composition on the slide surface of head core with high speed vapor deposition method. CONSTITUTION:The composite magnetic substance is formed by depositing an amorphous magnetic substance film 4 having the composition of 3-7% Fe, <=25% Si, 7-30% B and remainder Co in atom ratio, on the slide surface of magnetic head core 30-500mum in thickness with the high speed vapor deposition method. For example, said amorphous magnetic film 4 is evaporated on the surface to form the slide surface of magnetic base 5 like ferrite, and after it is processed into a prescribed shape of magnetic cores 21, 21', the gap is formed with nonmagnetic substances 23, 23' like glass, both magnetic cores 21, 21' are bonded and the magnetic head is obtained by polishing the sliding surface 22 further.
