Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the length of a gap and to make a magnetic flux distribution of said part sharp, by diffusing a substance for deteriorating the magnetic permeability, on a working layer of a butt surface of two cores which have been polished, and after that, butting the butt surfaces directly. CONSTITUTION:When the butt surfaces of two cores 1, 1' having the same shape are smoothly polished and are finished, a material of said part is magnetically deteriorated, and working layers 1a, 1'a whose thickness is 1mum or less are produced. Subsequently, on these working layers 1a, 1'a are applied a substance for deteriorating the magnetic permeability, such as boron, etc., said substance is diffused on the working layers 1a, 1'a by means of heating, and after that, the working layers 1a, 1'a are directly butted without placing a spacer 2. In this way, it is possible to obtain a magnetic head which can record with high density and to reproduce up to a high-frequecy band.
