Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the raining phenomenon in a stack by a method wherein the internal surface of a stack is lined with a trap plate, leaving a small space therebetween, and the exhaust gas is sucked into the small space by a suction fan.
CONSTITUTION: Combustion exhaust gas enters into a stack 1 from the lower end of the latter and flows upwards, while the moisture contained in the exhaust gas condenses on the internal surface of the stack. The upward-flowing exhaust gas is sucked into a small space 3 through a trap plate 2 by a suction fan 4, and the moisture contained in the exhaust gas is trapped by the trap plate 2. The trapped moisture, as well as the moisture which has condensed on the internal surface of the stack and carried up to the portion of the trap plate 2 by the upward-flowing exhaust gas, is driven by the suction fan 4 to flow together with the exhaust gas through a connection pipe 6 into a water collecting device 5, where water is collected. The collected water is discharged by a drain pump 8, while the exhaust gas deprived of water is returned into the stack 1 and discharged to the atmosphere.
