Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of condensing action, by providing a vertical wall of a vertical type heat transfer tube with an inclined groove part and a grooveless part.
CONSTITUTION: The condensation heat transfer tube 1 is formed with the inclined groove part 2 for serving as main heat transfer means and the vertical grooveless part 3 for collecting the condensed liquid formed at the part 2 and for permitting it to flow down. Condensation occurs at the inclined groove part 2, and the condensed liquid produced flows down along inclined grooves 4. The condensed liquid collects to the grooveless part 3, and flows along the tube surface swiftly to be discharge. The angle of the inclined grooves is in the range from 50W85° for a condensate for example from Fron, petroleum or the like vapors to facilitate the efficiency for removal of the condensed liquid. Consequently, as the condensing action and the removal action for the condensate are balanced not to increase the thickness of the liquid film on the heat transfer surface beyond a certain level, the condensation heat transfer effect can be maintained high.
