Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure continuously and precisely the vol. of air sucked in a sintering machine in the longitudinal direction by movably attaching a wind box with upper and lower parts opened to a running truck of manufacture an apparatus for measuring the vol. of air sucked, fixing the apparatus to a pallet at a measuring position, and carrying out measurement in synchronism with the pallet speed.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus for measuring the vol. of air sucked is composed of measuring wind box 6, laterally shifting truck 7 for moving box 6 in the lateral direction of the apparatus and running truck 11 for moving box 6 in the longitudinal direction of a sintering machine, and it is mounted on pallet 1 of the sintering machine. Prior to measurement this apparatus is fixed to pallet 1, and the vol. of air sucked is measured in synchronism with the pallet speed. After the measurement it is unfixed and returned to the measuring position. This operation is atuomatically carried out. Box 6 has distribution plate 16, filters 17 and flow control plate 18 at the upper open part to prevent the deflection of air sucked due to a turbulent flow of the air, and the flow rate of air sucked through box 6 is measured with flow rate meter 19.
