Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable automatic measurement of high accuracy by a method wherein the water content is decided by measuring electrostatic capacity and the like changing in accordance with the water content and by comparing the results of measurement with the weight, electrostatic capacity, etc. of the tea leaves whose water content is known beforehand.
CONSTITUTION: The weight of tea leaves 3 scattered averagely in container 1 therefor to which vibrations are given by a vibrating device 4 is meausred by a weight measuring device W-MTR, while the electrostatic capacity of the tea leaves changing in accordance with the water content is meausred by a electrostatic capacity measuring circuit C-MTR connected with parallel plate electrodes 2a and 2b provided in the container 1. Based on the results of these measurements and through the intermediary of CPU, processing is performed according to the program of ROM and, through the caluculation and operation of required factors written in RAM, the electrostatic capacity and weight of the tea leaves whose water content is already known and the measured electrostatic capacity and weight are compared with each other, whereby the highly accurate automatic measurement of the water content of the tea leaves is performed.
