Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect a grain moisture value with high precision and free from an error by providing a few different types of vibration selector device consisting of grain- size selection plates having varying selection bores at a feed port through which specimen grains are supplied.
CONSTITUTION: A moisture measurement chamber 13 measures the electric resistance value of a grain quality pressed or crushed between a pair of metal rollers 14, 15 and the measured moisture value is indicated on a meter 20. This measured value tends to lose precision on account of admixture or prematured grains mixed. Therefore, as a pretreatment process prior to the supply of specimen grains to the moisture measurement chamber 13, a vibration selector device 12 equipped with selection plates 3, 4 is installed at a feed port 2. Specimen grains are divided by the selection plates 3, 4 into a flow channel for prematured grains 24 and a flow channel 23 for admixture. Only matured grains are taken out as test specimens from the metal rollers 14, 15 after passing through a feed port 21.
