Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the quality control technology, by full-automatically performing the detection evaluation of central segregation of steel material and the detction evaluation of failure at the same time, nondestructively and ON-line.
CONSTITUTION: The 1st probe 11 is provided as the object of detction evaluation for central segregation, and the 2nd probe 12 is provided as the objection of detection evaluation for the failure being the object of normal ultrasonic probing such as crack. The gate circuit 16 selectively passes through the required signal component from the output signal of the reception circuits 11r, 12r and feeds it to the peak hold circuit 17. The output of the peak hold circuit 17 is input to the data processor via the comparator 18. The data processor 19 performs operation for the evaluation of failures depending on the steel and central segregation.
