Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a photoreceptor which permits two-color copying of good quality from a multicolor original through one exposure by providing a photoconductive layer which allows the transmission of chromatic light and a photoconductive layer which is sensitive to chromatic light on a conductive substrate then providing a resin protection layer thereon.
CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor 1 is constituted by laminating the 1st photoconductive layer 12, the 2nd photoconductive layer 14 and a resin protection layer 31 in this order on a conductive substrate 11. This photoreceptor 1 is subjected to positive or negative corona charging of the polarity opposite to the polarity at which the 1st photoconductive layer 12 shows sensitivity, or the polarity opposite to the charge polarity that can be injected to the 1st photoconductive layer 12 from the substrate 11, and after this, the photoreceptor 1 is uniformly exposed. Thence, it is subjected to the secondary corona charging of the polarity opposite to that of the primary charging; thereafter, the light image of the original 2 is applied to this photoreceptor. The electrostatic latent images having mutaully different polarities corresponding to the black and chromatic parts of the original are formed in the respective photoconductive layers of the photoreceptor 1 and if these are successively developed by, for example, a red toner (TA) and a black toner (TB), the two-color copy is obtained.
