Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a wear resistant Cu alloy consisting of a predetermined percentage each of Zn, Al, Ti and Ni and the balance Cu and having a fine crystal structure and toughness.
CONSTITUTION: This wear resistant Cu alloy is obtd. By adding 0.2W7.5wt% Ni to brass contg., by wt., 25W43% Zn, 2W8% Al and 0.1W5% Ti. Fe may be substituted for part of the Ni to allow 0.1W7.4% Ni and 0.1W7.4% Fe (0.2W7.5% Fe+Ni) to be contained in the alloy. This Cu alloy has wear resistance, a fine crystal structure and high strength, shows high machinability, and can be used industrially in a wide range.
