Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a molded coil having small size and void-free configuration without using a mold by mounting end rings at the end faces of the coil, and filling highly viscous resin in the gap therebetween to form an externally sealing layer. CONSTITUTION:After winding a surface coil 1 on a winding core 4, end rings 7 are mounted on both end faces of the coil 1. Then, highly viscous resin 5 is filled between the end faces of the coil and the rings 7 while rotating the coil 1 by a rotating unit 5 to be cured to form a sealing layer 9 on each of both end faces of the coil 1. Thereafter, the rotation of the coil 1 is stopped, insulating resin is immersed to the outer peripheral surface of the coil to cure the resin. In this manner, there can be manufactured a molded coil having equal performance to that using a mold.
