Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate gas-liquid interface, prevent freezing faults and make possible stable operation by discharging the refrigerant gas produced in a crystallizing vessel from a separating and washing vessel, in a sea water desalting method utilizing the LNG cold source.
CONSTITUTION: In a crystallizing vessel 61, the raw sea water admitted through a sea water feed pipe 82 and the LNG admitted through an LNG feed pipe 81 are directly contacted to form cryohydrate. The evaporated NG and cryohydrate are passed through a draft pipe 71 and are sent to a separator 62. The flowing force of the NG gas is utilized for this feeding. NG is exhausted from the gas exhaust pipe in the uppermost part of the separating vessel 62. The cryohydrate 86 is floated and separated to the upper part of the vessel and is sent to a thawing vessel 63 via a transport pipe 85. There is no gas-liquid interface on the wall surface in the crystallizing vessel 61, whereby freezing phenomenon may be prevented. In addition, the concn. of cryohydrate may be increased because it is fed into the separating vessel by making use of the flowing power of is formed NG gas.
