Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin solid-electrolyte battery with a prolonged dependability, by using a positive active material which is prepared by doping a high molecular polymer such as a polyene or a polyyne which has a linear conjugation chain with either a halogen or an electron attractive compound. CONSTITUTION:Lithium or a lithium alloy 8 is deposited on one of the surfaces of a nickel metal-foil 9 which is used as a negative collector by steam deposition, before a lithium-nitride film 7 is formed on the deposited lithium or lithium alloy 8, thus a negative active material being prepared. A polymer film 6 which is made by doping a high molecular polymer such as a poly-p-phenylene having a linear conjugation chain with either a halogen or an electron attractive compound such as arsenic pentafluoride, is made closely be in contact with one of the surfaces of a nickel metal- foil 5, thus a positive active material being prepared. The thus prepared active materials are installed inside stainless-steel cans, and connections 12 between an upper can 3 and a lower can 11 are subjected to laser welding to seal the battery. If it is desired, a negative active material may be prepared, by forming a metal layer on an insulating base-plate before a film made of either lithium or a lithium alloy is formed on this metal layer.
