Abstract

PURPOSE: To lighten the pulsation component of coolant and reduce pulsation noise up to the range in which man can not hear the noise by dividing the inside of the rear side cover of a swash-plate type compressor into two cylindrical spaces, using the outside space as a noise silencing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: The high pressure coolant which is discharged by a piston 14 passes through the discharge chamber 36' formed on the rear side cover 24, small holes 45, a noise silencing chamber 37, and a discharged coolant passage 38, and reaches a discharge port 25. The side cover 24 develops the sound silencing effect due to compression and expansion of coolant. When the positions of the samll holes 45 are set at nearly equal distance from the center of the side cover 24, noise silencing effect can be improved. Thus, with a relatively simple structure, the pulsation noise of the high pressure coolant can be reduced up to the range in which man can not hear pulsation noise.
