Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain exterior decorative parts for a watch with superior corrosion and stress corrosion crack resistances by bleding Ni, Cu and Zn in a specified wt. ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of 6W12wt% Ni, 65W80wt% Cu and the balance Zn and inevitable impurities is prepared. This alloy has superior corrosion and stress corrosion crack resistance and can be hot forged, so tha number of repetitions in case stamping can be reduced considerably, resulting in a lowered manufacturing cost. In addition, this alloy provides satisfactory market quality to completed exterior decorative parts for a watch. In order to enhance the machinability about 0.2W1wt% Pb may be added.
