Abstract

PURPOSE: To let the titled device serve also as a groove-type holding furnace and achieve the saving of equipment cost by supplying specified gas pressure into a furnace body to raise the level of molten metal up to the 1st tapping hole in the upper part of the furnace body and letting the 2nd tapping hole serve also as a receiving hole.
CONSTITUTION: When the pressurizing gas having been controlled to specified pressure by a pressurizing-gas pressure control unit 11 is supplied into a furnace body 2 by way of a pressurizing-gas pipe 10, the molten metal 1 in the furnace body 2 is forced up toward tapping holes 4 and 13 and stops still at the height of the specified level. A nozzle 6 of the 1st tapping hole 4 is opened and closed by a valve body 7 which is moved up and down by a valve body driving device 8, and further the nozzle 14 for pouring of the 2nd tapping hole 13 serving also as a receiving hole is opened and closed by the valve body 15 which is moved up and down by a valve body driving device 16, and since these are done respectively individually, it is possible to tap a necessary amount of molten metal into a ladle at necessary times according to need from the nozzle 14 of the 2nd tapping hole 13 while automatically pouring the molten metal from the nozzle 6 of the 1st tapping hole 4.
