Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an opposite electrode, by which life of the display device is made long, by sticking by a specific amount the fine powder of specific metallic oxide of less than a constant particle diameter, covered with a small amount of cellulose derivative, to expansion graphite powder having specific particle diameter and bulk specific gravity, and subsequently forming an electrode by the postprocessing required.
CONSTITUTION: The metallic oxide sprayed with a liquid which is obtained by dispersing the powder of one or more kinds among MnO2, MoO3, V2O5, AgO, Ag2O and ZnO having ≤200 mean meshes in an org. solvent such as methanol, using a samll amount of cellulose derivative such as nitrocellulose as a dispersing agent, is stuck by 5W70wt% to expansion graphite having 0.1W1mm particle diameter and 0.067W0.01 bulk specific gravity. The graphite powder which has been obtained is heated at 100W500°C in the atmosphere of vacuum or H2 gas, CH4 gas, and after removing the dispersing agent and cooling the powder in inert gas such as N2, etc., an opposite electrode is prepared by compressing and forming it. Deterioration of a display electrode (WO3) is prevented and its life is made long, by using said electrode for the electrochromic display unit.
