Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain highly-efficient luminescent material for low-velocity electron beam excitation which effectively eliminate electrons by a method wherein a conductive material is deposited in the form of a film on the surface of a fluorescent substance powder.
CONSTITUTION: A thin conductive film is deposited partly on the surface of a fluorescent substance powder to obtain a luminescent material for low-velocity electron beam excitation. Examples of materials for the conductive film are tin oxide, zinc oxide, and indium oxide. An impurity may be added to these oxides to enhance electrical conductivity. In view of the cost of raw material and the easy of manufacture, tin oxide or tin oxide admixed with antimony, is preferred.
