Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to read collectively levels in plural tanks by the centralized control room in the remote place, by using an optical cable to transfer level signals in tanks. CONSTITUTION:Transmission optical cable 1 and receiving optical cable 2 where optical fibers 10 and 10' are concentrated are arranged between pole brace 4, which is mounted vertically for the level in the tank, and unit 6 in the remote control room. Float 11 moves with pole brace 4 as a guide according to vertical movement of the level in the tank. The light from lamp 9 is irradiated to the object for light inversion of float 11 through fiber 10, and the reflection light is incident onto pertinent photodetector 18 on photodetecting plate 17 through fiber 10'. The electric signal output of element 18 is transferred to the centralized control room, thus monitoring collectively levels in plural tanks.
