Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical monitoring device of high quality and a low cost by providing a dropout part reaching a core on part of the outside circumference of an optical fiber, filling a transparent resin having a refractive index larger than that of the core and mounting a photodetector thereto. CONSTITUTION:A dropout part 2 reaching a core part 1a is made by cutting part of the outside circumference of an optical fiber 1, and a resin 7 having a refractive index equal to or larger than the refractive index of the core 1a is filled therein, thence a photodetector 3 is mounted thereto. Thereby, the optical monitor device of high quality and a low cost is obtained.
