Abstract

PURPOSE:To give compensation to the shift of the wavelength by detecting the shift of the light emitting central wavelength at the reception side and then giving the control to the branching characteristics of the branching filter. CONSTITUTION:The signal to be transmitted is sent to the reception side via transmission line 12 consisting of the optical fiber cable and after electro-optic conversion 10 and optical compounding 11. At the reception side, part of the received optical signal is sent to light wavelength monitor device 14 to detect the shift of the light emitting central wavelength. And the shift detected is then sent to branching characteristic control unit 17. Thus the control is given to the branching characteristics of the optical branching filter in accordance with the changing amount of the shift mentioned above, ensuring the compensation for the shift of the wavelength. As a result, the transmission quality can be stabilized.
