Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a polyurethane foam with excellent free foam density and heat insulating characteristics, by use of five kinds of polyethers in a specified proportion, in the preparation of an urethane foam, using water as a foaming agent.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. of a polyether mixture composed of (i) 15W 25pts.wt. of an adduct of bisphenol with ethylene oxide, (ii) 30W40pts.wt. of an adduct of ethylenediamine with propylene oxide, (iii) 35W25pts.wt. of an adduct of ethylene diamine with ethylene oxide, (iv) 10W5pts.wt. an adduct of sucrose with propylene oxide and (v) 10W5pts.wt. of an adduct of diethanolamine with propylene oxide, is foamed with addition of (B) a necessary amount of an isocyanate (C) 5W9pts.wt. of water (D) 1W2pts.wt. of a foam stabilizer and (E) 0.5W 3.5pts.wt. of a catalyst.
