Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a low-viscosity polyether-polyol, by adding 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether or a mixture thereof with an lakylene oxide to an initiator having at least four active hydrogens.
CONSTITUTION: A polyether-polyol having a hydroxyl value of 250W900 is obtained by adding to an intiator having at least four active hydrogens, such as ethylenediamine, pentaerythritol, a mixture of 5W100wt% of 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether and 95W0wt% of a 2W4C alkylene oxide such as ethylene oxide or epichlorohydrin.
EFFECT: A polyether-polyol suitable as a polyol used in the production of rigid polyurethane foams.
