Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat a high concn. org. waste liquid as well as to separate and recover a high purity methane gas by sending a hydrogen containing gas generated in a liquefying reaction tank by a two tank type digestion method of an org. waste liquid to a gasifying reaction tank.
CONSTITUTION: When an org. waste liquid is sent into a liquefying reaction tank and a gasifying reaction tank tank successively to carry out the anaerobic digestion treatment, org. substances in the waste liquid are decomposed to volatile aliphatic acids by the effect of liquefying bateria in the liquefying reaction tank 1 and hydrogen and carbon dioxide gas are generated. Then, if this gas is combined with a gas generated in the gasifying reaction tank 2 and, thereafter, introduced into the gasifying reaction tank 2, hydrogen gas in the mixed gas is converted to methane gas. Waste liquid is treated as described above and a high purity methane gas is recovered.
