Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the pretreatment that facilitates decomposition by naerobic treatment of following step, by destroying aerobic bacterias present in a sludge liquid by presurizing the sludge liquid using methane gas produced in a following step and then reducing the pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge liquid containing aerobic bacterias such as excess activated sludge produced at sewage treatment facilities utilizing the activated sludge method is led to a pressure container 1 where the sludge is pressurized by methane gas that is generated at a naerobic digestion treatment tank 5 of following step. The methane gas intrudes into cells of bacterias, and when the pressure is reduced, the methane gas disolved within cell-walls is expanded abruptly to destroy the cell walls. Thereafter the sludge liquid is led to the naerobic treatment tank 5 to be subjected to naerobic treatment by naerobic bacterias. Thus the methane gas is recycled to destroy cell-walls and therefore the naerobic treatment is very effective.
