Abstract

Next, the positions of the rolls 7, 8, 9, on the run- out side of the correcting machine are previously set to the value P; at the same time, the top side rolling redcution PF and the bottom side rolling redcution PB are decided from the measured values of the curvature. Just before the steel material is fed to the correcting machine, the rolling reduction of the run-out side rolls 7, 8, 9, is changed from P to PF. Hereafter, at the point that the tip of the steel material passes over the point B of the roll 7, the load cell 2 is put ON and the counter 4 counts the length of the steel material passed the point b according to the signal sent from the pulse genetator 3. At the same time as the steel material passes over the inflection point A, the rolling reduction of the run-out side rolls 7, 8, 9, is changed to the bottom side rolling reduction PB. Then, when the steel material drops out of the roll, the rolling reduction is again returned to P.
