PURPOSE:To secure a correct value of a sheet speed by determining it based on the diameter of the coil and the rotational speed of the reel after the coil diameter is found from the thickness of the sheet and the revolutions of the coil reel. CONSTITUTION:The speed v1 of an Al sheet 1 on the outgoing side of rolls 2 and 2 is determined as follows: The diameter of a coil in a tension reel 4 from the thickness of an Al sheet 1 and the revolutions of the tension reel 4 and then, the peripheral velocity of the coil in the tension reel 4 is determined from the coil diameter and the rotational speed of the tension reel 4 and the result is made the speed v1 of the Al sheet 1 outside the rolls 2 and 2. The thickness of the Al sheet 1 is measured sequentially with contactless type thickness gauges 8 vertically sandwiching the rolls 2 and 2.
