Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the own Doppler erasing errors without decreasing target searching areas by squaring the transmitter-receiver output signals at the erasing of the own Doppler. CONSTITUTION:Switches 4 and 14 are so controlled by a timing circuit 15 that they are connected to the contacts 41 and 141 side only at the own Doppler erasing and are connected to the contacts 42 and 142 side in other time. First, a transmitter 16 is operated by the trigger pulse from a timing circuit 15 and acoustic pulses are transmitted into water through a transmitter-receiver 1. The reflection signals obtained within a fixed period after the transmission are squared by a squaring circuit 2 and are applied to a sample holding circuit 8 and an amplitude comparator 17 via a high-pass filter 3, a mixer 5, a band-pass filter 6, and a frequency discriminator 7. The reflection signals obtained in the period after this are applied to the mixer 5 without being passed through the squaring circuit 2. The differences in the frequencies of these reception signals are discriminated and the moving target search signal is obtained from the amplitude comparator 17.
