Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the detection probability of targets by providing a comparator to a radar apparatus which changes over and transmits pulse signals of different repetition frequencies and selecting the optimum repetition signal. CONSTITUTION:Transmission and reception are accomplished by way of a signal source 1 which generates the signal f1 of a longer repetition frequency for obtaining distance information and the signals f2, f3 of short but mutually different repetition frequencies for performing target angle tracking, a signal changeover device 3 which changes over and leads out the signals f2 and f3, a time gate circuit 2 which alternately transmits the signal f1 and signsls f2, f3, and thereafter through ordinary various circuits. Further, a distance tracking receiver 9 which transmits distrance information from the reflection signal from the target and a comparator 16 which receives said information, is introduced with the signals f2, f3 respectively and compares the respective time differences between the receiving time of the target reflection information and the latest signals f2, f3 before this receiving time detected in first, second gate converters 161, 162 respectively, with its comparator 163 and changes over the changeover device 3 toward the repetiction signal of a larger time difference are provided, whereby the optimum repetition signal is selected.
