Abstract
PURPOSE: To inexpensively obtain sintered hydraulic parts having superior airtightness and wear resistance by press-molding iron and graphite powder then sintering the same thence subjecting the same to the primary steam treatment followed by oxide film removing working and further the secondary steam treatment.
CONSTITUTION: In producing hydraulic parts of sintered hydraulic valves 1 or the like by a powder metallurgical process, powder of iron and graphite is put in dies and is press-molded, thence the molding is sintered to form a sintered product which is then subjected to the primary steam treatment to perform pore sealing by the volume expansion at the oxidizing of the iron. Thence, the oxide film is removed by machining, after which the molding is further subjected to the secondary steam treatment. Thus, the sintered product having undergone the pore sealing treatment has better airtightnese and wear resistance of the entire part, and the sintered hydraulic parts 1 and the like used for valve plates etc. for hydraulic pump motors are obtained more economically than conventional machined parts.
