Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the decrease in yield based on fish plate defects by discharging the molten metal poured from a ladle into a tundish through an immersion type nozzle under ingates into a mold and making the fish plate casting speed lower than steady speed. CONSTITUTION:Pouring of molten steel 3 from a ladle 1 to a tundish 2 is perfomed by an immersion type nozzle 4. At least two ingates 8a, 8b are provided between the nozzle 4 position in the tundish 2 and the molten steel discharge position to a mold 5 so that molten steel passages 7a, 7b are formed between the bottom ends thereof and the bottom surface 6 of the tundish 2. In this way, the slag 10 floating on the molten metal 3 in the tundish 2 is prevented from being included into the molten steel in the casting process. In addition, the casting speed is made lower than steady speed at the casting of the fish plate, that is, at the stage when the amount of the molten steel remained in the pan in the previous time becomes about 1/5 that when full and the inclusion of the slag 10 begins to take place.
